Realised I’ve been a bit slack with updating here!
My third Olympic weightlifting lesson. Again, I can’t remember exactly what we did, but it was more snatch drills & some clean & jerks. I can now snatch 22kg & C&J 32kg – not great, but then I’ve only been doing it 3 weeks!
I got quite dispirited during the class as I know I’m strong, but I’m really struggling to nail the technique. There’s another woman in the class who is far stronger & more supple than me; but I shouldn’t compare myself to her as she’s 1) younger; 2) a yoga instructor and 3) has been learning Olympic WL outside the class too. But it’s hard, I can’t help comparing!
Speed day at my regular gym.
Box squat (below parallel): 20kg, 5 reps x 2; 40kg x 5; 50kg, 2 reps x 10 (with one minute between sets)
Good mornings: 50kg, 3 reps x 3
Glute & ham raises: 10 reps x 3
Pullthrough (blue band): 10 reps x 3
Bench press: 20kg, 10 x 2
Bench press with red bands: 20kg, 5 reps; 25kg, 3 reps x 4
Narrow-grip bench press with red bands: 25kg, 3 reps x 4
Dumbbell bench press: 10.5kg, 5 reps; 12.5kg, 5 reps x 4
Upright rows: 20kg, 7 reps x 3 (do you know how hard it is to do upright rows when you have big boobs? HARD.)
Dumbbell rows: 15kg, 5 reps x 5
Decline crunch: 10 reps x 3
Spiders, red band: 3 sets of 30s
