I trained chest last night, but forgot to write anything down. I know I got a pb narrow-grip bench press of 40kg + 5kg chains, but I can’t remember the rest.

So, here’s a picture of my cat, Smudge, instead. Enjoy!

Went to yoga. Took a gratuitous changing-room selfie. Feeling hench today!

It’s a holiday today in the UK, so I got to the gym earlier than usual (5pm!) and finished early too. Luxury!

Squats: 20kg, 5 reps x 2; 40kg, 5 reps x 2

Reverse band (lightened) squats: 60kg x 3; 70kg x 3; 80kg x 3; 90kg x 3; 100kg x 1; 105kg x 1

Oh yeah! Last time I took 105kg on my back I felt like I was suffocating, but this time it was OK (although obviously not comfortable!). I managed to get up, but it was one hell of a grind!!

Dimel deadlifts: 45kg, 20 reps x 2

Single-arm dumbbell rows: 20kg, 10 reps x 2; 17.5kg, 25 reps. Killer.

Glute & ham raises: 5kg plate, 12 reps x 3

Pullthroughs: blue band, 12 reps x 3

Lying leg raises: 10kg x 3

Russian twist (legs up): 5kg plate, 10 reps x 3

When did you first start working out?

Then when did you start going into your discipline? (say powerlifting, OLY, yoga, etc).

When did you start competing? (meets, marathons, etc)

What were your stats starting out?

What’s your current PRs in your discipline?

Mine, I started working out Nov…

April ‘09, when I was 32.

I never worked out before – I hated sports at school, and never understood why anyone would do sport for fun. Hence I started from a place of no fitness or strength at all.

I did my first competition on 31st October 2010: South East Deadlift at Woking power. I did a 105kg (231lbs) deadlift. My first 3-lift competition was the following April.

I think at my first lesson, I squatted the bar (20kg/45lbs), benched the bar (ibid.) and deadlifted 40kg. I was stoked!!

My current competition bests are 85kg (187lbs) squat, 47.5kg (105lbs) bench (with a stop – I can probably do more without a stop) and 115kg (253.5lbs) deadlift. I have deadlifted 120kg (264.5lbs) in the gym though, but I only count competition pbs!

I want to be Wonder Woman: My wonderful followers. I have a question. Well, more than one.

Ha, forgot to mention that today at the gym, someone got comprehensively chewed out by my coach for using their phone in the gym. Seriously, it was like watching someone get sent to see the principal at school. Shudder.

So if you’re wondering why I never film my lifts… that’s why!!

I think my waist is getting thicker (although I haven’t gained any weight). Maybe it’s down to more core work & accessory exercises.

Working on that Andy Bolton physique 🙂
